Playground Bark and Sand for Kids Areas
Our Playground Bark is excellent for play areas. Engineered and tested to handle falls this is the choice for creating a playground area. Other options include coarse sand for sand boxes and underneath above ground pools. We have Pea gravel which would be good around playground equipment that is out of the direct sun and that doesn't reach much height. Our turf builder is typically used for building up grass but also works great for getting extra muddy and could work well in a 'mud kitchen'. Our Coarse Sand is a safe material for play sand. It's clean and particulate free. You will want to add your own dirt/binder to create the ideal Play Sand for sand castles.
Building a mud kitchen or are you looking for a mud pit? Our turf builder is one muddy soil. Have fun with it over the summer and then use it when you start fall landscaping.
Pea gravel has been used for decades as a playground gravel. It consists of rocks the size of a pea and smaller. It is not recommended for tall structures but works in other settings.
Garden bed topsoil. This is our organic soil mixed with compost to get you the optimal growing balance.
Engineered to handle falls. Packs tight as a wood carpet. In general you'll want to lay one inch deep for 1 foot of structure height. Cedar material which is good at keeping the bugs out.
Coarse sand is the ideal material for laying an above ground pool. The sand is clean/washed, has good drainage and lays soft for an above ground pool.
